  • During your first therapy session, your therapist will ask questions to understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. This is a safe space for you to share your story, and we are here to listen and support you every step of the way.

  • Each therapy session typically lasts about 50 minutes. We want to make sure you have enough time to discuss your thoughts and feelings, while also being mindful of your schedule.

  • The frequency of therapy sessions depends on your individual needs and goals, but most clients start with weekly sessions. Together, we will find a rhythm that feels right for you and supports your journey.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a full fee charge. We understand that life happens, and we appreciate your communication to help us manage schedules effectively.

  • Yes, you can contact your therapist between sessions for urgent matters, but routine questions and concerns should be discussed during your scheduled sessions. However, if you are not able to reach your therapist for an urgent session, please reach out to the main Embrace number at (757) 447-4480 or reach out to the email address contactus@embracecounselingusa.com (24-hour response time), and we will connect you with the most available therapist as quickly as possible. For emergencies, please call 911. We are here to support you and ensure you have the guidance you need.

  • We accept self-pay as well as some insurance plans in select states. Our self-pay rate is $175.00 per session. If you’re unsure about coverage or payment options, feel free to contact us—we’re happy to help you navigate the process and find the best fit for your needs.

  • Yes, all therapy sessions are confidential, and your therapist will discuss the limits of confidentiality with you in your first session. Your privacy and trust are of utmost importance to us.

  • For telehealth sessions, please try to log in promptly. If you are more than 10 minutes late, the session may need to be rescheduled. We value your time and want to ensure you receive the full benefit of each session.

  • For telehealth sessions, make sure you are in a private, comfortable space where you feel safe to share openly. A stable internet connection is important, and it can be helpful to have a notebook or any relevant documents nearby. We want you to feel at ease, so if there's anything specific that helps you feel more comfortable or prepared, feel free to bring that to your session as well. Your comfort and sense of security are our top priorities.

  • If you miss a session without prior notice, you may be charged the full fee. It's important to communicate with your therapist as soon as possible to reschedule. We understand that unexpected things can come up, and we are here to work with you.

  • The duration of therapy varies for each individual based on their specific needs and progress, and your therapist will regularly review your goals and progress with you. We will work together to ensure you are making meaningful strides toward your goals, and we are here for as long as you need us.
